The award was launched in 2005. Since then, the school has participated in this award -achieving outstanding results by getting first places Kingdom-wide with several gold, silver, and bronze medals. The school was also honored to receive the awards in the presence of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
In the school year 2018- 2019, male and female students from first grade up to tenth grade were trained again to meet the standards of the Award as follows:
Teaching the skills of general fitness and training the largest number of students for the King Abdullah II Award for all age groups. The number of target groups and participation was 300 students. 48 students passed the first stages and were selected to compete in the King Abdullah II Award for Fitness for private schools sector kingdom-wide.
The award is a project aiming at motivating students to participate in different sports in an attempt to meet his majesty’s vision of equipping students with healthy behaviors and lifestyles by playing different sports and implementing them in their daily lives –which will enable them to face daily difficulties they might face in the future.
The award covers 5 areas:
- Curls ups
- Push-ups
- Flexibility
- Shuttle run
- Mile/ half-mile run
Each participant’s level is evaluated through the tests’ results and upon such, awarded their award. The Ministry of Education altered the E-learning system –i.e. Eduwave- by adding what is called e- fitness. The e- fitness allows the user to enter the results of the award in transparency and to get reports that were written before and after training the students in equipped locations and uploading them on the website to compete with other schools.
